In Atrévete a Ser Barbara, she speaks especially to women, encouraging them to be courageous, confident, and bold, while upholding godly values, virtues, and ethics to develop their God-given talents. In 2014, she was recognized by People en Español magazine as one of the most powerful women of the year, and in 2016 she was honored at the United States Congress as one of the most influential Latina women for her contribution to the promotion of Hispanic culture in the United States.

Barbara holds a bachelor’s degree in Advertising and Marketing and a master’s degree in Theology. She actively supports numerous foundations and initiatives, advocating for vulnerable and at-risk communities. In 2022, together with her family, she founded Moved To Serve International, responding to God’s calling to support nonprofit organizations that assist victims of domestic violence and child abuse.

Married since 1988 to attorney Víctor Manrique and the mother of two adult children, Barbara is a living testimony of perseverance, integrity, and faith. Her greatest desire is to leave a lasting legacy that honors God and fulfills the purpose He has entrusted to her.

It's hard to imagine the purpose God has for us. Together, we'll examine passages in 1 John to learn how to live out a gospel-centered identity no matter what season of life. As John tells us what to do for those who have seen, heard, and testify to Jesus Christ, we'll discuss practical steps to carry out our purpose in this life.

Amanda is a speaker, Bible teacher, and trainer with experience leading Women’s Ministry in parachurch settings and at First Baptist Woodstock. Her passion for the Great Commission compels her to join God in His mission and invite others to do the same. Amanda holds a Master's in Ministry Leadership from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and lives in North Georgia with her husband and three children.

Wendy Peters is a devoted follower of Jesus Christ, deeply grateful for His grace every single day. For 29 years, she has been married to the love of her life, Rob, a pastor, and has faithfully served alongside him in ministry. Wendy counts her three children—Anna Grace (24), John (20), and Liam (14)—as some of God’s greatest blessings to her. Combining her faith with a love for education, Wendy serves as a Bible teacher at Trinity Christian School. She is passionate about teaching students about the love of God and the importance of a Christian worldview, helping them build a firm foundation in their faith

Carrie Power is the founder of Currahee Women’s Wellness in Toccoa, Georgia, which she opened in 2022. With 18 years of experience in physical therapy and women’s fitness, she is passionate about helping women thrive in every season of life, rooted in the belief that the body, mind, and spirit are beautifully intertwined by God’s design. Her heart is to see women walk in strength, freedom, and wholeness—fully aligned with the purpose He has placed within them.

They served in Rio de Janeiro from 2000 to 2017 and have been based in São Paulo since 2018. They currently serve as Cluster Leaders for the Global City Cluster within the Americas Affinity, supporting gospel engagement across South America.

Katy has been married to her husband Mark for almost 28 years. He is the Worship Pastor at Whitesburg Baptist Church in Huntsville, Alabama. They have four children—two are married (with one granddaughter on the way), and two are in college. Beyond those great adventures, Katy loves to encourage women to take the Lord at His word and boldly walk in obedience to its truth by the empowerment of the Holy Spirit.

Caring for People During the 2026 World Cup

In 2026, the nations are coming…but the nations are already in our communities, and they love the World Cup! Learn how your church can pray, plan, and implement effective outreach this summer. Participants will receive the no-cost outreach toolkit, including soccer-themed evangelistic resources for adults and children.

Beth Ann Williams

Beth Ann Williams began with the Georgia Baptist Mission Board as the Adult Missions Consultant in 2007, and in 2013 transitioned to the role of Baptist Woman’s Missionary Union of Georgia Executive Director. In 2019, she was named Lead Strategist for Georgia Baptist Women and leads the Mission Georgia initiative. Connecting people to missions and ministry is her passion. Beth Ann has led Southern Baptists in several Olympic ministries, including directing the 2002 Winter Games Outreach in Salt Lake City, UT. She has served on the Utah-Idaho Baptist Convention staff, and previously Georgia Baptists as a consultant in Mission Volunteers. Beth Ann is married to Dan, and they have two young adult daughters.

Come on Friday, April 17, for dinner and a hands-on missions experience

No matter what language you speak, serving together side-by-side knits our hearts together around our shared mission – to make Christ known to all people!

In partnership with Mission Georgia and the Baptist Mobile Health Ministries we will assemble hygiene bags to be given to patients across Georgia who will visit the units for dental and health care to share the love of Christ and hope of the gospel.

Goal: 1,500 Hygiene Bags

What do you need to bring? 

  • $10 gift cards for Walmart, gas, or fast food (McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Burger King, Arby’s)

The bag and items for the bag will be provided and on site when you arrive.
